Susan Zermeno stands for honest leadership and a stronger Covina community.

Susan Zermeno has been a dedicated public servant for over 30 years, serving the community, and has been a long-time resident of Covina for over 24 years. Her commitment to the community is deeply rooted, not only through her professional and civic involvement but also through her innovative approach to fostering community engagement.

Susan Created the Facebook group “Covina Buzz, the Original,” in 2018, when she realized there was no community communication or any type of community forum. Covina Buzz was the first Facebook group that was created specifically for residents of Covina, and soon copycat groups occurred. 

Susan has served on many commissions and boards for the City of Covina. Her dedicated service started in 2016, actively involved in the following:

• Planning Commission
• Traffic & Parking Advisory Commission
• Library Board of Trustees                
• Park & Recreation Commission

Her role in serving on these commissions has provided her with an in-depth understanding of the city’s policies, priorities, and needs.

Before retirement, Susan had a distinguished career as a city planner for the City of Los Angeles and currently is a planning consultant with major land use companies. Her expertise in urban planning and development has been a valuable asset in her roles with Covina’s civic committees and commissions.

With decades of public service experience and a reputation for professionalism, Susan is the proven leader Covina needs as its next City Clerk.
